2017 has been a strong real estate market and we expect the strength to continue.
The market strength can be attributed to a steady job market, good population growth and confidence in our local economy.
Below you’ll find various statistics for Winkler, Morden, the RM of Stanley, and Southern Manitoba compiled from residential and condominium sales data from all real estate agencies provided from the MLS(Multiple Listing Service).
As illustrated above, Winkler’s sales have increased and Morden’s sales have decreased slightly compared to 2016.
These gradual market fluctuations are very common from year to year.
Commercial Market Rebounds
The commercial real estate market has experienced strong growth with new developments and businesses opening in Winkler and Morden.
Some of the new businesses include Mr. Mikes Steakhouse, King’s Deli, RB’s Home of Tools, Telus, Cell Mechanics, just to name a few.
Look for Tianna’s Café and Bakeshop, Other Brothers Roasters, and others to open soon.
How long does it take to sell a home?
Days on the market is an excellent indicator of the average number of days it take to sell a home.
This chart shows that homes in Morden and Winkler are selling quicker in 2017 than 2016 currently.
The local real estate market is strong and we expect this to continue as we move into the fall of 2017.
