Hamper Delivery Day
The Christmas season is revolved around giving. For the Winkler & District Christmas Cheer board, it started with the giving of their time, their groceries and their gifts. This organization has grown into a large community building experience, where volunteers and generous donations come together to bring cheer during the holidays.
Each year the number of hampers increase, this year over 330 hampers have been given. These hampers include food, household necessities and gifts for the entire household where they are delivered.
The Winkler and District Cheer board was created to make life easier for people in need during the holiday season. Everyone is going through a different situation, and the Cheer board believes in helping anyone that they can, in the best way they can.
It’s amazing to see how much time and effort gets put into this organization. The Cheer board works year-round to organize their volunteers, donations, and creating new ways to raise awareness and funds for this event. Some ways they fundraise include the school food drives, campaigning through the Co-op Grocery Stores and advertising in the newspaper.
As proud supporters of this amazing organization, we at Choice Realty want to give a big thank-you, to all the board members, committee members, hard-working volunteers and our community that has given of their food and finances to the Cheer board. If it wasn’t for each and every person involved, this organization wouldn’t have the impact that it does now.
